With lining vs. without lining
A fully lined jacket is often associated with higher-end tailoring.
But a lining covers the entire inside of the jacket. It hides the construction, the seams and the finishing.
The result can look perfectly clean, even when what lies underneath is not. Like a false ceiling: once it is in place, you can no longer judge what is behind it.
Bound seams
On the Infinity Suit, there are no raw edges left exposed. No approximate seams hidden behind a lining.
Each seam is first assembled. Its edges are then wrapped in binding and stitched a second time. This is what is known as a bound seam.
Fewer layers. More work.
Removing a component should make a jacket cheaper to produce. Here, the opposite is true.
Two operations where a lining would simply have covered everything.
