We wear fabric every day, yet most of us rarely think about what it’s made of—or how that affects the way it feels, moves, or lasts.

At Monsieur Future, we’ve chosen a different path: performance knit fabrics that break away from traditional suiting norms. Why? Because modern life demands more from your clothes.

Knit vs. Woven: What’s the Difference?

Most classic suits are made from woven fabric—rigid, structured, elegant, but often stiff and delicate. In contrast, knit fabrics are built from interlocking loops of yarn, offering flexibility and comfort. Think of it like comparing denim jeans to a high-end tracksuit.

Woven = formal but stiff.

Knit = modern, comfortable, and stretch-friendly.

It used to be nearly impossible to make a knit suit that holds its shape like a traditional one. But with the right construction techniques and fabric innovations, that’s exactly what Monsieur Future has done.

Why Knit Wins:

✔️ Natural stretch without elastics

✔️ Breathable and temperature-regulating

✔️ Soft against the skin

✔️ Flexible, lightweight, and made to move

Types of Knit Fabrics We Use

Not all knits are created equal. Here are three advanced knits we use across our collection, depending on the function and feel required:

1. Ponte Knit (Double-Knit)

Thick, dense, and structured—ideal for tailoring. This is what gives our suits their elegance and comfort. It holds its form, while still allowing freedom of movement.

2. Piqué Knit

More structured, textured on the outside, smooth on the inside. Great for shirts that need airflow and shape.

3. Jersey Knit

Simple, smooth, and slightly stretchy. Perfect for close-to-body items like premium T-shirts.

Behind the Fabric: What Makes It Work

To achieve next-level comfort, we blend three advanced fibres:

Rayon (Viscose)

Regulates temperature, wicks moisture, and stays breathable in all seasons.

Spandex (Elastane)

Provides high elasticity. Most suits can’t handle more than 4%—ours go up to 9% thanks to smart layering and construction.

Together, these fibres create our signature Infinity Stretch fabric—the reason Monsieur Future suits feel unlike anything else on the market.

Nylon (Polyamide)

Soft, strong, and resistant to shrinkage. Adds washability and durability.

The Takeaway

Traditional suits were built for standing still. Ours are built for movement, comfort, and modern living. That’s why the future of suiting isn’t stiff wool—it’s breathable, technical, knit innovation.
